Winter night in the Kootenays.

Having spent time in the Kootenay area of British Columbia in winter, the night sky is a wonderfull sight with more stars than I have ever seen before. One could spend all night "Star Gazing".

(Watercolour on Bockingford CP paper - 28cm x 37cm)

I like how the stars and the snowflakes are hard to tell apart, tying the sky and the earth together.

Beautiful painting! I just adore birches, and I love how they are so prevalent in this composition.
